How FLOW Works

Families can create a free FLOW account and discover activities available in their local community.

We're listening to families and learning what children and young people actually want to do - from kayaking and paddleboarding to creative activities, cookery, sport, dance and everything in between.

Our goal is to make as many activities as possible accessible to families, with an ambition to offer many opportunities for around £5 per child, wherever funding and sponsorship allow.

FLOW works alongside local activity providers to bring exciting experiences to our community.

From independent instructors and clubs to community organisations and larger venues, we're building a growing network of people who want to help children experience something new.

Each provider remains responsible for their own activity, including suitability, accessibility, supervision, safeguarding, health and safety and any information they need from families.

FLOW's role is to help families find the opportunities that are out there and make them easier to access.

Local businesses have an important part to play in the FLOW community.

Through partnerships, sponsorship and advertising, businesses can help us create more activities, reduce financial barriers and reach more children and families.

Some businesses may choose to sponsor a particular activity. Others may become a FLOW partner and support our wider vision.

Every contribution helps us build something bigger.

And businesses aren't simply supporting FLOW - they're becoming part of a community that is helping children find their confidence, their friendships and a true sense of belonging.

We want FLOW to be something that can grow and continue for many years to come.

To make that possible, FLOW has been created with both a community purpose and a sustainable commercial model.

FLOW Freedom to Learn Our Way CIC is the community focused part of FLOW. Its purpose is to create benefit for children, young people and families, with income and funding used to support that purpose - including helping to subsidise activities, create new opportunities and reduce financial barriers.

FLOW Group Ltd provides the commercial infrastructure that supports the wider FLOW platform, including areas such as booking and advertising.

Keeping these elements separate allows us to build a sustainable platform while keeping our community purpose at the heart of what we do.

As FLOW grows, we want the impact to grow with it.

More families.

More providers.

More activities.

More friendships.

More opportunities to discover a new passion or try something for the first time.

And, eventually, more local FLOW communities across the UK - each connected through one shared vision.

We also hope to develop local FLOW communities supported by dedicated coordinators and mentors, providing families with trusted guidance, meaningful connections and ongoing support throughout their journey.

We don't want FLOW to simply be somewhere to book an activity.

We want it to become a community.

A place where children can try something new without feeling different.

Where families can find people who understand.

Where businesses can make a genuine difference.

Where providers can open their doors to children who may otherwise miss out.

And where every child has the opportunity to discover something they're good at, something they love, or simply something that makes them smile.

Because sometimes one opportunity is all it takes to change what a child believes is possible.
